The point estimate for the sexual dimorphism in the Atapuerca population has turned out to be twice as large as the one corresponding to the modern human population here analyzed. Although such results should be considered cautiously, given that the sample size of the Atapuerca remains is small, they show disagreement with the hypothesis according to which sexual dimorphism is comparable in the above mentioned populations (see Arsuaga et al. 1997).
