N2  - The polymerase chain reaction (PCR) was used to compare blood traces found at the place where a dead woman had been discovered with the peripheral blood samples of 17 suspects. The comparisons, which took almost two years to complete, were based on three loci of the human genome: MCT 118 (chromosome 1), Apo B (chromosome 2) and YNZ 22 (chromosome 17). The results of the molecular biology tests indicate the accuracy of determinations using this set of highly polymorphic loci of human genomic DNA.
