N2  - Les restes humains d'Homo sapiens associés à un contexte archéologique moustérien découverts au Sud Levant Méditerranéen proviennent de cinq sites majeurs, Tabun, Skhul et Kebara sur le Mont Carmel, Qafzeh, Amud et Hayonim en Haute Galilée. Concentrés sur une aire géographique restreinte, ils composent cependant un large échantillon illustrant une diversité biologique importante qui fait l'objet de nombreux débats, alimentés de surcroît par la géochronologie et la position clé qu'occupe la région considérée entre l'Afrique et l'Europe.
N2  - The Homo sapiens sample associated with Mousterian assemblages in Southern Mediterranean Levant is composed of specimens from five sites (Tabun, Skhul and Kebara on the Mount Carmel; Qafzeh, Amud and Hayonim in Upper Galilee). They consist of an anatomically diverse sample restricted geographically that constitutes for several investigators a matter of debate with regard to the inter-continental location of the sites, the chronological distribution of the specimens and finally the evolutionary relationships of the human groups represented to the European Paleolithic populations.
