N2  - Le récent réexamen d'un galet gravé mis au jour jadis dans la Petite grotte de Bize, en France méridionale,
a conduit l'auteur à proposer une nouvelle lecture d'une partie du décor animalier figuré sur cet objet. Il ressort de cette
analyse que l'intention du graveur paléolithique, dont l'identité solutréenne demeure vraisemblable sinon certaine, fut,
notamment, de décrire sous une forme graphique elliptique, une scène mettant en jeu un jeune mammouth et sa mère
dans une relation au caractère éthologique affirmé.
N2  - The recent re-examination of an engraved pebble unearthed in the Small Cave of Bize, southern France,
has led the author to propose a new reading of part of the figurative animal decoration on this object. The analysis
suggests that the intention of the Palaeolithic engraver, whose Solutrean identity remains probable if not certain, was
most notably to describe in an elliptical graphic form a scene involving a young mammoth and its mother in a clearly
ethological relationship.
