N2  - In this paper the relationship between total Hb-level and Hb-genotypes has been discussed. The present set of data demonstrates a pattern of a decreasing order of occurrence: A/A > A/E & A/T > E/T > T/T, which suggests no selective advantage for the heterozygotes in a place from where malaria has been eradicated three decades ago.
