ACTA MUSEI MORAVIAE - SCIENTIAE BIOLOGICAE 93/2008Abstract Holuša J. & Kočárek P.: The occurrence of Pterolepis germanica (Herrich-Schaeffer, 1840) in Slovakia (Orthoptera: Tettigoniidae). Acta Musei Moraviae, Scientiae biologicae (Brno) 93: 1-6. - Pterolepis germanica (Herrich-Schaeffer, 1840) occurs in Slovakia at the northern edge of its range. It is known today from three territories in southern Slovakia at the borders of areas of steppe and deciduous forests. It occurs on high herb vegetation in localities with a very warm and dry microclimate. An older record in north-eastern Slovakia is probably unconformable to modern distibution because of drastic changes in countryside management and the extinction of dry steppe habitats. Keywords. Pterolepis germanica, faunistics, distribution, Slovakia Abstract Dvořák D., Roleček J. & Fajmon K. 2008: A recent record of the predatory bush cricket Saga pedo Pallas, 1771, in the Pouzdřanská step Steppe (southern Moravia). Acta Musei Moraviae, Scientiae biologicae (Brno) 93: 7-9. - A recent record of the predatory bush cricket Saga pedo Pallas, 1771, in the Pouzdřanská step Steppe (southern Moravia, the Czech Republic) is reported. This is the second recent site for the species in the Czech Republic. The habitat of the species is described and the circumstances of the find are discussed. Keywords. Saga pedo, faunistics, Czech Republic Abstract Kment P. & Jindra Z. 2008: New records of Eurydema fieberi from the Czech Republic with corrections to some previously published records of Palaearctic Eurydema species (Hemiptera: Heteroptera: Pentatomidae). Acta Musei Moraviae, Scientiae biologicae (Brno) 93: 11-27. - The first recent records of Eurydema (Horvatheurydema) fieberi Fieber, 1837 from Bohemia, previously believed to be extinct in the Czech Republic, are presented. Further, some previously-published misidentifications of E. (Eurydema) laticollis Horváth, 1907, E. (Horvatheurydema) rotundicollis (Dohrn, 1860), E. (Rubrodorsalium) maracandica Oshanin, 1871, E. (R.) mrugowskyi Stichel, 1944, and E. (?) pulchrigena Kiritshenko, 1925 are corrected. The following species must be excluded from the faunal lists of their respective countries: E. (H.) rotundicollis from Slovakia, E. (R.) mrugowskyi from Turkey, and E. (?) pulchrigena from Afghanistan. We confirm the occurrence of E. (R.) maracandica from Afghanistan. Eurydema (H.) fieberi is recorded for the first time from Montenegro, and E. (R.) blanda Horváth, 1903 is a new species for Armenia, Azerbaijan, Georgia, and Iran. Keywords. Heteroptera, Pentatomidae, Czech Republic, Bohemia, Moravia, Afghanistan, Armenia, Azerbaijan, Georgia, Iran, Montenegro, Slovakia, Turkey, faunistics, new record, red list Abstract Stehlík J. L. & Jindra Z. 2008: A contribution to knowledge of Pyrrhocoroidea (Heteroptera) of Zambia. Acta Musei Moraviae, Scientiae biologicae (Brno) 93: 29-42. - Roscius parvulus sp.nov. is described. Pyrrhocoris truncatipennis Fallou, 1891 is removed from synonymy with Dermatinus tartareus St?l, 1855 (currently Aderrhis tartarea), transferred to the genus Aderrhis Bergroth, 1926 and redescribed. A synonymy of Roscius brazavilliensis Robert, 1975 with Roscius guilielmi Bergroth, 1926 is suggested. Ten species of Pyrrhocoroidea are recorded for the first time from Zambia. Altogether 17 species are now known from Zambia. Key words. Acta Musei Moraviae, Scientiae biologicae (Brno) 93: 43-46. - The species Thorictus taftanus sp.nov. from Iran is described, illustrated and compared with the similar species T. angustus John, 1964. Key words. Coleoptera, Dermestidae, Thorictinae, Thorictus, new species, Iran, Palaearctic region Abstract Skalický S. 2008: A review of Japanese Heteroceridae (Coleoptera). Acta Musei Moraviae, Scientiae biologicae (Brno) 93: 47-52. - The current state of knowledge of Japanese Heteroceridae is summarized. Only three species from the family occur in Japan: Heterocerus fenestratus Thunberg, 1793, Augyles japonicus (Kôno, 1933) and Augyles tokejii (Nomura, 1958). The distribution of these species on the Japanese Islands is summarized, while H. fenestratus and A. japonicus are recorded from the Kuril Islands for the first time. A. japonicus and A. tokejii are revised, redescribed and figured. Certain specimens examined, labelled as types of H. orientalis, H. chosensis, H. sugihari and H. okamotoi, have never been formally described and remain nomina nuda. All diagnostic characters for these species agree with those of A. tokejii (H. okamoti), A. japonicus (H. sugihari), H. fenestratus (H. chosensis and H. orientalis) and are conspecific with them. Key words. Taxonomy, Coleoptera, Heteroceridae, new records, Japan, Kuril Island Abstract Dvořák L., Bogusch P., Malenovský I., Bezděčka P., Bezděčková K., Holý K., Liška P., Macek J., Roller L., Říha M., Smetana V., Straka J. & Šima P. 2008: Hymenoptera of Hády Hill, near the city of Brno (Czech Republic), collected during the Third Czech-Slovak Hymenoptera meeting. Acta Musei Moraviae, Scientiae biologicae (Brno) 93: 53-92. - On a joint excursion during the Third Czech-Slovak Hymenoptera meeting on 8 June 2007, participants recorded a total of 234 species of Hymenoptera from the xerothermic complex on Hády Hill, which is situated on the north-eastern edge of the city of Brno (Czech Republic, South Moravia). Despite being dramatically changed by limestone mining in the 20th century, the locality is valuable as a hotspot for threatened species of Hymenoptera, as is evident from finds of 48 species currently classified in the national Red List, including three taxa previously considered extinct in the Czech Republic (Chrysis graelsii sybarita Förster, 1853, Evagetes elongatus (Lepeletier, 1845) and Hylaeus lineolatus (Schenck, 1861)). Most of the Hymenoptera recorded are more or less confined to dry grassland, although several species preferring open thermophilous woodland and closed forests were also ascertained. Macrophya postica (Brullé, 1832), Pristiphora insularis Rohwer, 1910 (both Tenthredinidae), Chrysis phryne Abeille de Perrin, 1878 (Chrysididae), and Ceratina nigrolabiata Friese, 1896 (Apidae) were found for the first time in the Czech Republic. Acta Musei Moraviae, Scientiae biologicae (Brno) 93: 105-130. - Social wasps (Hymenoptera, Vespidae) were trapped using beer bait traps in European open ecosystems in 2007. During this study, 4015 wasps of 10 species were trapped at 144 locations. The following species were trapped: Polistes dominula (Christ, 1791), Polistes nimpha (Christ, 1791), Vespa crabro Linnaeus, 1758, Vespula germanica (Fabricius, 1793), V. rufa (Linnaeus, 1758), V. vulgaris (Linnaeus, 1758), Dolichovespula media (Retzius, 1783), D. saxonica (Fabricius, 1793), D. sylvestris (Scopoli, 1763), and D. omissa (Bischoff, 1931). V. vulgaris and V. crabro were the eudominant species with more than 30 % of individuals. The third most common species was V. germanica with more than 13 % of individuals. D. media, a species formerly recognised as rare or uncommon, had 9%. A very interesting result of the study is one trapped specimen of D. omissa, a social parasite species. Key words.
