| Abstract | | The problems of estimating age and the possibility of determining the profession when studying skeletons of unknown individuals from ancient cemeteries are presented on the skeleton of the well-known astronomer J. Hevelius from XVII c. Gdańsk. Distinguishing the features determining age, their connection with fitness is underlined. | | | | Keywords | | Estimation of age - Profession - Prehistoric skeletons | | | | Resume | | Les problèmes liés à l'estimation de l'âge et à la possibilité de déterminer l'activité d'individus inconnus issus de cimetières anciens sont présentés d'après l'étude du squelette du célèbre astronome J. Hevelius (Gdańsk, 17e s.). Les résultats pouvant être vérifiés grâce aux sources écrites, on pourra tester la validité de cette méthode d'analyse, en vue d'une possible application à d'autres squelettes.
