Abstract
In view of the rapid decay of the Negrito populations of the Andaman Islands in the Bay of Bengal, there is an immediate need to launch an appropriate programme of urgent anthropology for documenting biological information on them. But before any preparation is envisaged it is a priori to know about the kind and quality of research investigations that have already been undertaken among these primitive and fast vanishing groups of the world. In this paper, an attempt has thus been made to review and take a stock of account of researches done in the field of biological anthropology among the indigenous inhabitants of the Andaman Islands.
