Abstract
The paper is based on examinings the thickness of 10 skinfolds in 10.661 Czech and Slovak children of both sexes, within the age bracket of 1½-15 years. The authors, provided that the thickness of the skinfolds comprises the entire thickness of the corresponding fat layer, try to assess the relative distribution of the subcutaneous fat and its changes in the course of the child ontogenesis: a) on the trunk, b) on the limbs, c) on the head and neck, d) on the limbs, on the head and neck. The relative amount of subcutaneous fat is determined as a share of skinfolds of the given region from the sum total all 10 studied skinfolds.
