Abstract
In the present study an attempt has been made to find out the dermal pattern differences in terms of sexual dimorphism and bilateral asymmetry in the Great Andamanese of the Andaman Archipelago and also to establish their origins, if possible. Sexual dimorphism is exhibited for the value of Dankmeijer and Furuhata Indices. Similarly bilateral asymmetry is seen in the main line formulae of right and left hands of males. Finger and palm prints have been found to be of no utility to establish the origin of the present populations.
